Ecklonia Cava Extract

Ecklonia cava extract is an ingredient containing phlorotannin extracted from ecklonia cava kjellman in Jeju waters,
and an individually approved ingredient for health functional foods whose sleep quality improvement effect is certified for the first time in Korea.
Ecklonia cava kjellman is brown algae seaweed found in clean Jeju waters.
Ecklonia cava kjellman contains a type of polyphenols, 'phlorotannins' (marker compound dieckol),
activating GABA receptors (the sleep-inducing compound in the body) to induce sleep.

The clinical tests of the impacts of ecklonia cava extract in Jeju waters on the improvement of sleep quality showed the sleep quality was improved in general
by witnessing ‘an increase in the duration of deep sound sleep, a decrease in the wake after sleep onset and a decline in the sleep-disordered breathing index during sleep.’
Ecklonia cava extract was certified as an individually approved ingredient for health functional products effective for healthy sleep by MFDS in 2015 for the first time in Korea, and Hurum got technology transferred
or ‘the sleep inducing and enhancing component including brown algae (ecklonia cava kjellman)’ from Korea Food Research Institute.

Complex vegetable extract (KTG075)

KTG075 is a vegetable complex extract with Hurum Research Center’s unique combination technology and optimal extraction
concentration technology applied.
KTG075 is a vegetable complex extract accelerating mucin, the phlegmatic substance secreted in the large intestine, and contributing to improvement of intestinal functions.
This is a new material by combining 9 specialized resources growing in Jeju island and applying Hurum’s unique extraction technology,
having impacts on the secretion of mucin in the large intestinal tract. Mucin is the phlegmatic substance secreted in the intestinal mucous membrane.
Large intestinal mucous membrane is so sensitive that it is prone to get hurt by virus and residue; mucin produces a thick layer between the mucous membrane and feces,
protecting the membrane and shortening the duration of residues staying in the large intestine. In addition, prebiotics,
serving as food for probiotics, help activation of intestinal functions.

the change in the thickness of the mucous membrane
The research of the impacts of KTG075 on the secretion of mucin 2 in the large intestinal tract showed that the intestinal functions were activated in the KTG075 administration group,
resulting in the increase in production and secretion of mucin 2, therefore maintaining the level of lubrication. In addition, bowel movement was enhanced, facilitating defecation
and improving the intestinal functions reduced due to reasons such as constipation and stress.
